Hey guys this is a new problem that just started yesterday, I Downloaded a codec pack because I wasnt able to view some old tutorial recordings i made with Camtasia a while back and since then whenever I open any program like Windows Media player, Windows Movie maker, iTunes, VLC players or anything to do with Videos/Audio/Webcam it will crash and i get messages in the attached files as soon as they open so I'm unable to use them at all.

I've tried searching for other answers and have had no luck :(

P.S this also includes Windows live Messenger, which i just tried opening.

It seems like the issue you are facing with programs crashing after installing a codec pack is likely related to the codec pack installation. Codec packs can sometimes conflict with existing codecs on your system and cause instability issues with multimedia programs like Windows Media Player, VLC, and others. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue: 1. Uninstall the Codec Pack: - Go to the Control Panel on your computer. - Navigate to Programs > Programs and Features. - Look for the codec pack you installed and uninstall it from the list. 2. Update or Reinstall Multimedia Programs: - After uninstalling the codec pack, try updating or reinstalling the multimedia programs that were crashing. - This can often...

Update or Reinstall Multimedia Programs: - After uninstalling the codec pack, try updating or reinstalling the multimedia programs that were crashing. - This can often resolve any conflicts caused by the codec pack. 3. Use System Restore (if needed): - If the issue persists even after uninstalling the codec pack, you can consider using System Restore to revert your system to a state before the codec pack was installed. - System Restore can help undo changes made to your system and restore its stability. 4. Use Alternative Codecs: - Instead of using a codec pack, you can choose to install individual codecs as needed. This can help prevent conflicts that arise from codec packs. 5. Check for System Updates: - Make sure your Windows system and multimedia programs are up to date. Sometimes, updates can address compatibility issues with certain codecs. By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue of programs crashing after installing a codec pack. If you continue to experience problems, feel free to provide more details, and we can explore further solutions.
