Windows 7 W7 deletes personal files

Hello.

I've installed W7 RC edition. But lately it have been running checkdisk at startup after a forced reboot (due to lockup or BSOD). And 2 times now it has deleted personal files like .mp3, .jpg, .mkv and stuff like that.

Never had the problem with the beta 7100 version, so I installed the RC version to my media center. And useful data i now gone.

Have I done something wrong, exept the obvious of intalling a release candidate on an "important" computer, or is W7 just useless.

Any tips? I kinda like the new Win, but cannot accept theese problem.

Sorry for my bad english, I'm an norwegian.

The RC is much stabler than the beta version if that's what you're asking. And Windows will never delete unless they were corrupted. If you're getting reports of bad sectors when chkdsk runs then you might need to replace your disk or reformat it. Otherwise it just wouldn't make any sense.

Try installing a file recovery software your files might still be there but not in the MFT
