Windows 7 W7 not booting anymore

Hi everyone,

I've been having a huge problem today:

I was using W7 as usual when I installed the last version of acrobat reader and restarted the PC...now here's where the problem started:

Usually when I restarted I had the option to choose between XP and W7 ( i have both, on on each HDD) but After the restart There was no option to choose and the PC booted on XP.

I restarted again and selected the W7 HDD to boot (I had the XP selected which didn't give me problems since allowed me the option to choose which OS) and after saving changes on the bios and starting again I just get a black screen.

I tried using the DVD of W7 to force boot from it but it just shows the blue screen of W7 and hangs there.

I beg for someone to help me please!

Edit: I've managed to make the W7 DVD work but the repair wizard couldn't repair the problem, only told me that a recent driver or update may be preventing the system from starting.
Error code 0x490
Any thoughts?
