Windows 7 What security suite are you using?

I'm about install Windows 7 later this evening and was wondering which internet security suite or anti-virus everyone is using. Currently, I am running Windows Vista 64bit with Windows Live OneCare which is not supported. Frankly, it's worked flawlessly and I'm looking forward to the freebie that's supposed to come out later this summer. In the meantime, I'm leaning towards Avira for anti-virus protection and just using the buit-in Windows firewall.

Any other suggestions?

I've been running Eset products for 4 years now. I love Eset Smart Security v4. I haven't had any malware in all that time. Of course I also run Firefox with NoScript.

just curious, why the argghh??? you are the first person i have heard complain about avg. i use avg's security suite, and it run's flawlessly in win 7. it's accurate, fast and uses very few resources. so i am a bit confused by you confused... i mean... wait a minute... well, you get it, right?

He's not the first.. there have been quite a few complain about AVG in Windows 7... I too have noticed it's increase in resource usage and it's lack of stability in Windows 7.. I'm using NOD32 on 3 of my 5 pc's and Avast (paid version) on the other two and so far so good, no problems at all..

Using "Avast! Home Edition 4.8" as resident AV/AS protection, "Comodo Internet Security Firewall 3.9" (with Defense+) as firewall/HIPS and "A-squared Free 4.5" as backup on-demand AV/AS scanner.

All three working great in my Windows 7 RC x64

well i haven't had a moments trouble out of my avg internet security. i mean nothing! although i have to admit that i am curious... if nod32 or avast is really that good, why do you have the other one? and if you had to pick, which one is the best?
i also would be curious to know, what it is that you think they can do any better than avg? always looking to pick up more information.

I'm using AVG on a couple of my older rigs simply for testing purposes.. If I had to pick between NOD32 and Avast I'd go with NOD32.. Both are good but I think NOD32 comes out on top in the end.. It seems to be a bit more streamlined then Avast and also seems to use fewer resources... (though neither of the two seem to use as many resources as AVG Free does...)

i'm currently installing pc tools internet security because i've got a free 1-year license from them! it is not cr*cked of keygenerated. i have to check it out first if it's running perfectly on win7.

The problem is AVG 7.5 worked good, where as the new AVG 8 is at least a step backwards. If Grisoft were to still support version 7.5, I for one would still be using it.

I signed up for the McAfee Beta Testing Program and downloaded their beta suite.
It's been treating me well so far and the price was right (free).

I have used Free AVG and Free Avira in the past on W7. AVG has an annoying habit (probably resolved by now) of forgetting that it was supposed to update itself, and the only way I could figure out a resolution was to install it over the current installation to get the updated version.

Avira comes with an annoying nag screen, but worked pretty well.

This McAfee beta is (IMO) the best of the 3 products.

Another AVAST! 4.8 Home Edition user here; just does what it says on the can Liked it on Vista, and still like it on Win7RC.

Avast. On install, I uncheck all but web, network, and standard shield. Then, I make sure the services are delayed on bootup. Almost invisible impact on performance and startup, but powerful protection.
Also, BIG fan of Avast screensaver.
