On a Shuttle SN95G5 V3, with an Nforce 3 250 chipset on a Shuttle motherboard model NF7 V3, device manager does not report a LAN adapter present immediately after installing Win 7 Beta. Installing the ethernet adapter driver only from a couple of packages of Nvidia Nforce drivers does not affect this, even when using Vista compatibility mode on driver software is used.

Note: LAN adapter works fine using Vista.

Thanks to a couple of people on the Shuttle forum, I have found and downloaded the right device driver for the LAN adapter on my mobo. However, it is not executable and must be installed from Device Manager, which does not report any network adapter.

It seems like you are facing an issue with installing the LAN adapter driver on a Shuttle SN95G5 V3 with an Nforce 3 250 chipset. If the LAN adapter worked fine on Vista but is not being detected on Windows 7 Beta, you might need to manually install the driver through Device Manager since the executable installer isn't working. Here's a step-by-step guide on how you can manually install the LAN adapter driver on Windows 7: 1. Extract the Driver Files: - Make sure the LAN adapter driver package that you downloaded is stored in a location you can easily access. - If the driver package is in a compressed format (like a .zip file), extract it to a folder using a tool like Windows built-in ZIP extraction or a third-party tool like...

Access Device Manager: - Right-click on the "Computer" icon on your desktop or in the Start menu and choose "Manage." - In the Computer Management window, select "Device Manager" from the left pane. 3. Locate the Network Adapter: - In Device Manager, look for the "Network adapters" section and expand it. - You should see an entry with a yellow exclamation mark or a generic name indicating the missing driver. 4. Install the Driver: - Right-click on the network adapter with the missing driver and choose "Update Driver Software." - Select "Browse my computer for driver software." - Browse to the folder where you extracted the LAN adapter driver files, then click "Next." - Windows should now install the driver. Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the installation. 5. Verify Installation: - Once the installation is complete, check Device Manager to see if the network adapter is now listed without any errors. By following these steps, you should be able to manually install the LAN adapter driver on your Shuttle motherboard running Windows 7 Beta. If you encounter any specific errors or need further assistance during the installation process, feel free to provide more details so I can help troubleshoot the issue.
