Windows 7 Win 7 Home Premium to Professional

I have a HP laptop Running Home Premium. I purchased what I thought was and upgrade disc, turns out it is a OEM full install. Being the GENIUS that I am I opened package with out verifying and cannot return
My question is can I install this with out losing my current set up such as Programs and Documents.

Where do I obtain the key? Can I use the one on the OEM install disc?

The key that comes with that Win 7 Pro.
