Windows 7 Win 7 & Windows 2003 server workgroup issues

Hi,
i m having problem connecting my Win 7 professional to my windows 2003 standard server edition, the setup is a workgroup thru a router, on the win 7 browsing to a shared folder on the w2k3 server, it keeps asking for a username and password of the local machine.

i have a userrname and password setup on both machines. the w2k3 can browse win7 shared folders with no problem. it doesnt even ask for username or password.

Any suggestions?

the version of win 7 pro: 6.1.7600 Build 7600

i have actually figure out what went wrong. The win 7 date was 1 month behind, that was the caused of the problem.
