Windows 10 temporary files

I keep getting a nagging pop up suggesting I remove temporary files and delete the old Windows installation. I am not sure why I would want to do this, particularly if I wanted to revert to Windows 7 within the 1 month allowed by Microsoft ?

because it uses space but windows should not be telling you to do this... have you got some 3rd party software installed?

Disk Cleanup will pop up if you are low on disk space, I have CCleaner running and it also will pop up and ask to clean up files.

Good point, Neemo made. Take a look at this excellent article which shows you how to check for free space and how to create more free space on your main hard drive (C: bootdrive). Here's the link: How to Use Windows 10’s Storage Settings to Free Hard Drive Space

Best of luck,:encouragement:

Hi

If you have more then one partition and don't want to remove your Windows.old file just move it to another location.

To do this copy it to the new location and then use CCleaner to remove it from it's location on Drive C:\. Make a note of where you moved it from, so if necessary you can move it back and run restore.

After the month is up you can just delete it, from where you saved it.

Other temp files you can probably just remove now using CCleaner, that's why they're called temporary. LOL
