Migration of Time and Language Settings to Settings App​

In an effort to consolidate system configurations, several time and language settings have been transitioned from the Control Panel to the Settings app. Users can now:
  • Add additional clocks via Settings > Time & language > Date & time.
  • Configure the Network Time Protocol (NTP) server.
  • Modify AM/PM symbols.
  • Adjust number and currency formats.
  • Enable Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language support.
  • Copy current user language and region settings to the welcome screen, system account, and new user accounts.
This migration simplifies access to these settings, providing a more cohesive user experience.

Performance Improvements in File Explorer​

File Explorer has undergone performance enhancements, particularly in launching cloud files and loading context menus. These improvements aim to provide a more responsive and efficient file management experience.

Fixes and Known Issues​

The build addresses several issues:
  • File Explorer: Resolved problems with icon mirroring in right-to-left languages, persistent tooltips, and performance during cloud file operations.
  • Start Menu: Fixed issues related to incorrect category displays and Visual Studio categorization.
  • Task Manager: Improved reliability and accessibility, including fixes for crashes and focus issues.
  • Input: Addressed issues with Chinese IME and touch keyboard functionality.
  • Settings: Fixed crashes when adding security keys under sign-in options.
  • Other: Resolved app crashes related to dao360.dll and SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION bugchecks.
Known issues include:
  • General: Some users may experience rollback issues during installation with error 0x80070005.
  • Click to Do (Preview): Text and image actions may not function correctly, with potential crashes.
  • Start Menu: Temporary display of a smaller layout.
  • Taskbar & System Tray: Reports of unpinned apps after updating.
  • File Explorer: Color discrepancies in dark mode for low-space drives.
  • Live Captions: Crashes when using live translation on Copilot+ PCs.
  • Xbox Controllers: Bugchecks when using controllers via Bluetooth.
Users are encouraged to report any issues through the Feedback Hub to assist in the ongoing development and refinement of Windows 11.

System dialogs, such as those appearing when an application fails to open, have been updated to align with Windows 11's visual aesthetics, providing a more cohesive user interface.

File Explorer Enhancements​

Several improvements have been made to File Explorer:
  • Icon Mirroring: Resolved issues with icon mirroring in right-to-left languages.
  • Tooltip Persistence: Fixed tooltips that remained visible unexpectedly.
  • Tab Duplication Flash: Addressed black flashes occurring when duplicating tabs in maximized windows.
  • Desktop Icon Scaling: Improved support to prevent overlapping icons and text.

  • Taskbar Icons: Pinned apps may be unpinned after updating.

  • Xbox Controllers: Using Xbox controllers via Bluetooth may cause system crashes.
