Major Highlights
1. Recall Homepage
- A new personalized homepage for Recall, showing recent snapshots and the top 3 apps/websites you've spent the most time on in the past 24 hours.
- Provides quick access to key features (Home, Timeline, Feedback, Settings) via a new left-hand navigation bar.
- Users can filter which apps and websites are included in Recall’s snapshots in Settings.
2. Move Hardware Indicator Position
- Highly requested feature: You can now move the on-screen hardware indicator popups (brightness, volume, airplane mode, virtual desktops) to the bottom, top left, or top center of your screen.
- Set in Settings > System > Notifications > Position of the onscreen pop-up.
3. Start Menu (for IT/admins)
- A new Boolean for the Configure Start Pins policy lets admins apply Start menu pins only once; users can then personalize their pinned layout without it being reset by further policy changes.
4. File Explorer AI Actions
- The previously tested AI actions in File Explorer (Build 26200.5603) are being re-rolled out. Some users who had the feature disappear may see it return.
5. Language Settings
- The country/region selected during device setup now shows under Settings > Time & language > Language & region.
Fixes (Gradual Rollout and Broad Rollout)
Gradual Rollout (with toggle on):
- Fix for some input issues (Search, Chinese Pinyin IME, clipboard history, emoji panel).
- Taskbar: Explorer.exe crash fix with Italian language.
- File Explorer: Home sometimes only showing one folder; performance degradation with SharePoint sites fixed.
- Settings: Updates uninstall list now sorted by date.
Broad Rollout (everyone):
- Fixed Windows Vista boot sound playing instead of Windows 11 boot sound.
- PC reset under Settings > System > Recovery now works.
- Certain KVM VMs with “UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR” should boot again.
- Fixed KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE bugchecks after upgrading to recent Dev builds.
Known Issues
- Dev channel join experience: 2-step process for joining and updating if you're on 24H2.
- After PC reset, version may show as Build 26100 (cosmetic only, won't block updates).
- Some may see error 0x80070005 updating, fix in progress.
- Start Menu: Touch navigation issues, limited drag-and-drop, occasional duplicate entries in folders.
- Xbox Controllers via Bluetooth may cause bugchecks — workaround is to uninstall the specific driver.
- File Explorer AI actions: Limited Narrator support for summarization canvas (workaround: use Caps+Right).
- Widget pinning in new boards reverts to classic experience.
- Click to Do: Slow first intelligent text action for Copilot+ on AMD/Intel PCs.
How to Get Latest Features
- Many features are on rolling (staged/phased) rollout—turn on the toggle in Settings > Windows Update > Get the latest updates to be considered for new features early.
