Hi!

I have an Acer computer with an inbuilt formatting tool.
I can reset my computer to factory settings with it.
But whenever I do that and i'm reinstalling Windows 7 all the programs from Acer, Norton and McAfee comes with it.

So i have been wondering if I could burn a Windows 7 ISO file on a CD and use the product key I have.

Is that possible?

Your product key will be an oem key and will not be valid for an install from a retail Windows dvd. When I buy a laptop with a pre-installed system with al that junk and bloatware is to uninstall each of them, run ccleaner to to tidy up afterwards, cleaning out any junk files and also the registry. I then create an image of the drive on dvd using something like Acronis True Image and I use these disks for running clean installs. I still keep copies of the oem recovery dvd's as backup.

You should have a Windows 7 disc? It's actually your right.

You can download a clean, Link Removed - Invalid URLand install that. Then activate it with the product key on the COA sticker that is on your box - the OEM key is no good because it is a generic key that the OEMs use for mass activation.
