Hi all
I have a problem with my hp printer 1020
firstly I have installed windows 7 (7100) form windows xp
but couldn't complete the installation until i remove printer usb form my pc
after I'd finished the installation I installed it's driver and it works but with some problems
it sometimes doesn't print
but when the printer connected and turned on I cannot shutdown
it freeze when after log off
and while the printer turned off pc works good
and the printer works very well on windows xp
I want to solve this problem cuz I need my printer all time
thanks

I got it working

The Vista drivers for the LJ1020 work but not by a direct install. You have to extract the files to a folder and install by the update driver function.

No, the XP drivers will not work.

HP is stating they are not going to release drivers until Windows 7 RTM is released.

A Vista driver can be downloaded here:

This is for the 32-bit version, you can go back and choose the 64-bit driver if that';s the OS you are using.

You may have to install them as busydog has suggested.

Or you could go to Control Panel > Devices and printer and click on Add a printer and see if any drivers are in the list.

thank u all

Thank u all
my problem wasn't with the driver
may there are a conflict with the printer
I'am trying to found solution
thank u all

Did you try my suggestion?

If it's not a driver, what do yopu think it is?

thank you

thank you very much
yes I have tried it
but the original driver which in it's CD is better than it
i have tried the both in vista and the original driver work better

It sounds that the problem is a conflict in the hardware
because I'am using additional usb card and the printer connected via it
when I connect it directly to motherboard usb
it work good and the system shutdown normally

Hi,
By installing the latest drivers for printers on your computer you can get rid of this problem. From this page you can download the latest Link Removed - Invalid URL for Windows 7.
I hope I could help
