Windows 7 Windows 7 issues

Hi,

I have only just joined, because I was wondering if anyone else has expirianced issues getting programs to connect to the internet...

I can browse in IE but cannot use Firefox, MSN Messanger, Outlook or games like Grand Theft Auto IV....

They all come up and say cannot connect to internet.

I have checked Internet options and firewall and all looks ok??

Windows updates work ok.

Not even the AV can connect to do updates.

If you have outlook you aren't running windows 7. It won't run outlook without some complicated tweaking.

First, press Winkey + R and type in "winver" and press enter and make sure you are running windows 7.

Then click "Start" and type in "Fire" and select Windows Firewall ...Not the firs one that says Advanced Security.

When it opens, click RESTORE DEFAULTS.

Make sure you have also turned off all external (3rd party) programs that protect your system and reboot and test Firefox, live messenger etc. Somethig probably fiddled around with your settings or another type of firewall program is misbehaving.
