Windows 7 not filling screen on Acer Aspire

That is little to start with...
A good reason may be that your displaydriver need to be updated. Go to the support site of Acer and check it.

Either a problem with the driver as @bochane suggested or you have a custom screen resolution set that does not fit the aspect ratio of the screen.
