I run the Windows 7 Ultimate setup from within Vista and the install screen comes up. I click install and within a minute or two the install screen closes abruptly. It even does this in safe mode too, so there is no likelyhood of something running that cause this behavior. HELP. I have installed the Windows 7 OS twice on other machines running all the same apps with not problems with the same setup files. The machine is a Dell XPS 710, 4GB RAM, DUO Core 2.4 GHZ The screen says starting windows setup and some like coping temp files, it may get to the do you want to download files from the internet or not and ask me to fresh install or upgrade. Then even the compatibility check may start but the the window closes abruptly leaving the setup screen left up.
