Hi guys
Its like this.....
I have this evening been getting the blue screen of death. I don't know why this suddenly happened. When I re-boot the windows 98 splash screen comes up, thing is I have never ever installed windows 98 on this machine, then it re-boots itself and starts up in DOS. I cannot get a signal from my router to get on the web from my laptop either. My router is ok because my ISP checked it for me. I have never heard of this. I cannot get it to scan for viruses because I cannot get it booted up.

If it were a virus, it might have spread to your laptop also. Have you run a deep scan on it?

You made NO changes prior to the problem occurring? No new software or downloads or devices?

Have you tried doing a startup repair in Windows 7? Maybe hitting the F8 key during boot or boot to the install DVD or repair CD?

Are you overclocking or dual booting?

Have you tried clearing your bios or setting it back to default values?

Have you performed a hardware test (Windows Memory Diagnostic) and Chkdsk?

Have you also attempted a Windows Startup repair from the Windows 7 DVD?

Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to also check the threads available there for additional assistance and guidance.
