Enable MTP Mode for Android Devices: - If you're using an Android phone, ensure that it is set to MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode when connected to the PC. This mode allows for proper file transfer between devices. 4. Perform System File Checker (SFC) Scan: - Run an SFC scan to check for and repair corrupt system files that might be affecting File Explorer's functionality. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow. 5. Check for Windows Updates: - Ensure that your Windows system is up to date with the latest updates. Sometimes, updating Windows can resolve compatibility issues. 6. Try in Safe Mode: - Boot your PC into Safe Mode and connect your phone to see if you encounter the same issue. This can help determine if the problem is related to third-party software or drivers. 7. Disable Quick Access: - If your default File Explorer view is set to Quick Access, try changing it to open This PC instead. Go to View > Options > General tab > Open File Explorer to > select This PC. 8. Check for Antivirus Interference: - Temporarily disable your antivirus software to see if it is causing any interference with file operations. 9. Use a Different File Explorer App: - Consider using a third-party file explorer app to access the folders on your phone. This can help identify if the issue is specific to Windows File Explorer. 10. Reset File Associations: - Reset file associations for the phone's folders by going to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Choose default apps by file type and set the appropriate file associations. After trying these steps, test if the issue persists. If the problem continues, further investigation may be needed to identify the root cause of the File Explorer behavior with connected phones.
