Actually, Windows Defender is running in addition to Mcafee ( Mcafee seems to be controling both). Also, some ARE starting to get through. Six of the first nine installed, and the unimportant updates are going through. I'll try the fix.
Yeah, McAfee is shutting off things that are native to the OS... its anti-virus & anti-malware; in that sense, it's controlling both. All will be fine when McAfee is gone.
