Windows 7 Windows Visual Glitch

Ok so heres the issue. Everytime i log onto windows, my desktops is glitched. The wallpaper is all glitched out and if i use the mouse to make a selection box, it goes away. But when i wake up my computer when it has gone on stand by, the desktop is glitched again and the border of anything i open is glitched and when i try to use windows dvd burner, the main menu burns with the same type of glitch that my desktop has. Any idea what the hecks going on, it went away when i updated the other day but came back about three days later......... im at my wits end with this and would appriciate any help. Thanks

Firstly, could you post some screenshots?
