📎 AI Summary:
The thread is about removing the built-in “Create Shortcut” option from Windows Explorer’s right‑click context menu, since it’s mistakenly triggered while deleting files. The discussion notes that the relevant “default” context-menu entry isn’t easily removed with the same kinds of tools/registry tweaks used for third‑party additions, and the best answers point toward modifying context-menu handlers/using specific registry changes or policies to disable that system feature. Overall sentiment is that people didn’t find a straightforward, one-size-fits-all solution, but there are workable directions using low-level Windows context-menu customization.

I've searched for this but can't find an answer. What I'm trying to do is remove "Create Shortcut" from the context (right click) menu of Explorer. Sometimes when I want to delete a file I hit this by mistake and then have to delete the file and the shortcut.

I have found programs to delete items that have been added by programs (winrar etc.) and also registry hacks to do the same thing. I still can't find anywhere to delete or change the default windows items.

Any help is appreciated.
