This problem seems to be recurring for laptop users. I'm running 64-bit Win7 on my laptop, using an NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M graphics adapter, but the OS only recognizes it as Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.

I've tried manually download/installing drivers from NVIDIA's website, but the installer tells me there are no drivers compatible with my hardware.

I've tried updating manually from the Device manager, same result.

I saw that someone said to uninstall the driver and reboot, but once I reboot, the driver is immediately updated again. Maybe I'm doing something wrong there?

Has anyone resolved this problem themselves?

Try this driver:
NVIDIA DRIVERS 186.81 WHQL

The one "Link Removed" suggested Link Removeddoes NOT support your Graphics card.

Since you are running it on a laptop the drive and video card are different.
It can be a bit confusing that way.

Is there a way to make that method work without actually having the driver setup disk that came with the computer? That one is most likely back at home.

sure ya can point it to a folder to scan, but that still requires the drivers to be there

have ya tried these ones as they should work....they slightly older but least it lists your model

Yup, thats what I meant by the 'have disk' method....You click have disk but actually just point it to the folder the drivers extracted to..

Unfortunately, I couldn't get that method to work using multiple versions of the driver software that is supposed to support my device. The error message reads:


Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

NVIDIA Quadro FX570M

The driver selected for this device does not support this version of Windows.

bugger....guess gonna have to wait for a better driver or try the risky disable driver signing method.

Notice that that FX 570 is NOT in the "FX Notebook series" section, also notice that it does not have the "M" at the end, therefore its a different card.

Now take a look at the page for the driver I linked you to;

Notice the "M" and how it is in the "Quadro FX Notebook series" section.

I know the difference, and did attempt to install FX570M versions of the driver. Thanks anyway :D
