Hey! So I've had this problem for quite a while now. I used windows movie maker for a long time until I was forced to reset my PC for personal reasons. Now, after I had to reset my PC, I downloaded windows essentials and downloading movie maker. It didn't open. I deleted it BUT even though I deleted it, even I try to re-download windows essentials, it shows that I already have windows movie maker installed... I've tried searching on my computer but no windows movie maker has shown up... Please help!
📎 AI Summary:
The user originally seeks help with reinstalling Windows Movie Maker after a reset, as it no longer appears on their Windows 10 system despite being indicated as installed during Windows Essentials setup. Multiple forum contributors suggest checking program listings, using registry cleaners, and ensuring compatibility with Windows 10, noting that some Windows Essentials apps like Movie Maker have been phased out or require new download methods. The overall consensus is that the user needs to manually install a compatible version of Movie Maker from the Microsoft Store or other sources, as the system still reports it as installed even after deletion.

Microsoft is converting @live, @hotmail to outlook.com email. Windows Live Essential Mail should not be used. The built-in Windows 10 App works just fine with Outlook. But all the rest of the Windows Live programs work fine with 10. Live Writer was great, but very few people use that publishing method anymore, so it's sort of a mute point.
Here's another one of my videos that visually explains where to find Movie Maker 2012 after it is installed, just like I explained in my earlier post.
But many people will be pleased if MS does provide MM in a Windows App.
I don't see 'windows essentials' in my programs.
Ok, so I made it work. I downloaded wlarp.exe which deleted my previous install of windows essentials, after that, I rebooted and installed essentials again, this time movie maker works, thanks everyone for your help!
