When I go to Start-My Computer-Programs and Features, Loads of programs that were there have disappeared. Help? Previously all the software was there and now when I got to look at all of it, they have disappeared and I don't really want to do a system restore. Please help

There is a Programs and Features option in the Control Panel, is that the one to which you refer?
Those are listed in case you want to uninstall one. If programs were listed and have been removed, possibly the registry has been altered to remove those entries. Have you done any registry cleaning?
There may be individual uninstall utilities in the folders for the programs you could use to uninstall.
