📎 AI Summary:
The thread discusses whether the default view of the Windows 10 Recycle Bin can be customized to always open in "Details" sorted by date descending. The original poster finds that settings revert after some time, possibly due to periodic scans using Advanced System Care, which might reset user preferences. Contributors suggest that changing the view once usually sticks but can be lost after such maintenance scans, implying a need to reapply settings or explore deeper system adjustments.

Is it possible to change the default view of the Windows 10 Recycle Bin when it opens? I figure there’s settings in the Registry somewhere. I would like the default to be view by details, sorted by date, descending.

All you should need to do is set the view once. It should remember it.

It remembers for a while, but then reverts back to it's default settings.

Yes, I run Advance System Care periodically.
Yup, as neemobeer suggests and the reason why i asked.. Certain scans can remove any settings you've made and it might be worth experimenting. Run the scan and then check your Recycle bin straight after.
