Have you considered trying 'System Restore'?

How about re-installing the program sometimes they have a 'repair' feature?

If you mean the file icons in windows explorer, then I guess it is the default file associations thing, it'll show you the icon of the program that is associated to open those files.

Start menu -> Defaults, or right click a RMVB/RM file -> Open with -> Choose the program to open it.

i have already set it to be "Media Player Classic" which will normally show up previews of RMVB and RM videos =(
