Windows 10 decided to download itself on its own fine I thought and left it to get on with some other jobs came back and found a message saying that windows 10 was installed and would I download an update so the update started and I went back to the job I started. Came back to the computer and found a black screen with the cursor in white. Nothing was happening so did Ctrl,alt,delete got to my log in page which said windows 7 so I logged in the welcome screen came up and then disappeared leaving me with a black screen and a white cursor managed to start up in safe mode and did system restore which did'nt work so i now have a computer that don't work. Any ideas, I'm lucky I have an I pad

When you boot, is it still Windows 7? If it is you may want to try and boot up and get to the advanced start up menu (F8) and try and roll back to the last known good configuration. Sounds like your installed failed part way and didn't roll back. I'd give that a try.
