It is a stretch think installing one font would cause you problems, unless that font interfered with the Win 7 basic fonts.

What don't you understand? There have been several suggestions that the solution is a recovery or repair.I still suggest that a reinstall would have been a better solution. It would take care of the SP1 problem as well.
