I have my power options set so when my laptop is plugged in my screen brightness is around 100%, and when unplugged it's around 30%. I've noticed on a number of occasions that if I turn the brightness up with my keyboard keys when it's unplugged Win 7 forgets what my screen brightness settings were and my plugged in brightness is around 30% and my unplugged brightness is sometimes 30% and other times much brighter, meaning I have to go back and set everything again. Win 7 sucks.

Solution
Is it too much to expect Win 7 to remember my settings? It seems that it is.
I agree. I haven't had problems with screen brightness, but I have had problems with sound volume. I suggest you use your video card settings, through your video card software. It may be tricky...

Windows 7 does not suck. Is it too much work to set the
brightness? However I have never met this problem before.
