Windows 7 looking for a registry cleaner.

I have been looking for a newmail audio notification app. I have tried several. Have not found one. But after uninstalling the losers there are files still hanging about. mostly in /programs. Get a little tired of tracking deleting. I know there is some in the /user/local directory. Then the registry.

What is a simple registry clean that is just a scan and fix click. Easy hopefully but will get the activation key also. why does uninstall not uninstall everything?

Ccleaner the well established junk file cleaner includes a registry cleaner. It's been widely used for years and has a good reputation free from here:

I use Ccleaner too. Make sure you save the items when asked before you finish the cleaning.
