Hello!
Well last night i've removed by accident my desktop.ini and some other files that were next to it and just forgot about them. So today i've try to turn my laptop on, everything seems to be fine but until i log in into my windows account after that, the screen just goes black and can't...
Since the mass update about 10 days ago, (not the last one about 3 days ago), my Office 2013 Pro Plus 64 bit has not been working at all. I can’t open either the programs or any file created by them.
Two minor issues also started at the same time. On every start of Windows desktop.ini pops up...

For a special purpose system, I'd like to set a background image on a library folder.
In a "regular" folder, this is very easy setting the desktop.ini, but this does not work in the "meta" folders that are libraries.
I've been otherwise unable to figure out how this might be done. Is it...

Hi everyone..

I insert a DVD+RW with some movie files on it into the dvd drive of my computer.
A couple of seconds later the dvd drive appears in my Windows Explorer (under 64bit Win7) and the

Fine so far.
But the much to my surprise...

Lately I've noticed two identical appearing icons on my desktop, entitled desktop.ini.
Do I need these. I'm trying to reduce the clutter.
One says last modified 8/8/10 and the other 6/26/10.
When I start to delete it, it says it is a system file.
Can I delete it?

I've been trying to modify the "folder picture" for a large number of folders, and to that end am going to write a script to modify the desktop.ini in each folder. The thing is, changing the desktop.ini doesn't seem to have any visible effect.
If I manually change the picture (folder...
When I see the icons on my desktop, I have 2 'desktop.ini' files. I see that one is from my main user and another from the 'public' user. Is there anyway to tell Win7 NOT to show the desktop.ini files at all on the actual desktop? I see that it is a 'hidden' file, but that doesn't seem to make...
On Windows XP you could make a .ini file and set a picture to be the background (not folder icon) of the file (also change font colours ect.) But none of this works on 7 or Vista.
I just wanted to know if there was a way to enable this on Vista or 7.
