I have spent all day working on installing 7. I have an evga 608i SLI mobo with ACPI comploiant BIOS (it has an ACPI option in BIOS and according to release notes, evga improved ACPI+OS interaction).
Well, every time I try to install, I get the message stating my BIOS is not fully ACPI...
I've Asus P6T Deluxe with i7 940 CPU and 6GB Corsair DDR3.
After installing eVGA GTX480 card, I've confronted with sporadic BSOD,
when playing RailWorks 2 Train Simulator and playing Blue ray disk.
On the otherhand, I never experienced this problem under Windows XP Pro
32 bit.
Any comment...

I performed a successful clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I installed the OS to a 100gb volume with the intention of using that only for the OS. I, without thinking, allowed the setup to name that drive C. Further, without noticing I allowed the Programs folder and the...

It appears that windows 7 had updates happening last night (8-12-2010) since when I woke up, I woke to a log in screen, and that normally means the computer was restarted.
I logged in with no issues, but then I noticed that my network cards were red Xed out in the task bar, which is strange...

So, got a new OCZ Vertex 2 120 GB over the weekend. Installed it, everything went fine. Blew away my old install (backed things up of course), loaded raid drivers during install. Formatted both, installed on SSD with my D drive as Games/Music/Etc.
Now everything seemed fine on first boot...

Hey. I was wondering if anybody knows how to dedicate memory to graphics card. I'm using a XFX nForce 750i SLI Extreme NVIDIA nForce 750 Motherboard, with an EVGA GeForce 8400 GS Video Card. I'm running windows 7 64-bit. I have 8 gigs of ram so I figured it'd be worth it. I looked in my bios but...
