My hard drive fills up to within 5 GB of capacity without me taking any action. I run disk check and everything is fine until the next time I turn on the computer and the disk is full again. I ran a couple of malware tools and they found nothing. When I look through the directories I cannot find...
Hp came with two drives. vista 64
set it back to factory specs and installed win7 64.
seem okay.
just noticed that the other drive is empty - correct.
but properties says there is 43GB there!
it is set up to show hidden files.
how do i tell win7 64 that hey! the drive is empty.
thanks
I was trying to unhide some files and now I've gone and changed some permissions which has resulted in files being classed as hidden. I can see them (they're at 50% transparency) but how do i get them back to being normal?

Ok, I have Win7 Ultimate and in the windows explorer or what ever you call the program where you view the files and folders, it shows the address paths of "Hidden" folders that I want to keep hidden.
How can I delete these address paths? It also shows up in the IE8 addresses which is a pain but...
Is Skype crashing on start-up? Here is a quick resolution that seems to work almost all the time in Windows:
If the Skype icon is displayed in the system tray at the bottom right of the screen, right-click it and select Quit.
Click Start, type "run" and press Enter. (On Windows XP: Click...

So one second I was in my hard drive and everything was fine, and the next second when I tried to go into It again, I noticed many of my files were missing but not all and my disk space was open, This happened out of nowhere, it was simply just sitting there, the only thing I can think of is...
Greetings to all,
Okay, I am trying to keep an open mind to the point that I invested my money into Win 7 Ult. 64 bit. While I find that it has some interesting addons, like Vista I find that is appears to be warmed over XP with the same features, just renamed and in different places so as to...

I am a newbie to Windows 7. I just ran the built-in Backup wizard and it apparently backed up the files I requested, but when I look in the location where it's supposed to be (an external hard drive), I see no backup file of any kind. However, when I go back to Control Panel/All Control Panel...
In trying to access AppData for the main user I managed to hide the Users folder so none of it shows at all (!!???). Then tried to unhide it by selecting Show Hidden Files and Folders, View option, but with no success. My other, older HDD running Vista clearly shows the Win7 Users folder and all...
I was doing a virus scan and saw there are like 20,000 files located inside the C:\$Recycle.Bin folder that were being scanned. I went to the folder to delete these files and there are no files to be found. Where is all this crap located and how do I wipe it out permanently?
I am having a problem with an eSATA hard drive that causes Windows to freeze if the drive is plugged in at powerup. I started Windows in safe mode, and saw that the last driver loaded before freeze is C:\Windows\system32\drivers\disk.sys. However, when I view this folder in Windows Explorer...
