Can I hide a specific filetype from being displayed in Explorer?
For instance, I have an application that makes many .ecx files. I need the files, or more specifically the program needs the files, but I don't need to see them.
Any ideas?
There are many posts on the Internet about Start Menu Programs disappearing. However, none of those cases seemed to be exactly like what I'm experiencing.
This has happened to me many times. I'm not sure what I did: the problem might've occured just after uninstalling some small video...

Hey all,
First off, let me state that I have looked elsewhere (on other windows forums and tech forums in general) for solutions to this problem, but to no avail. I have found problems similar to the one I'm experiencing, but no tech support guy or gal has got the answer figured out.

Folks,
OK, I've had enough of things I can't see. How for example, can I find and view all files
named "index.dat". If you enter this into the search bar, you won't find any, but I assure you, there are dozens on the typical system. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
There're many...
I am doing a class assignment for school on hidden folders on windows operating system and how to use them.

When I see the icons on my desktop, I have 2 'desktop.ini' files. I see that one is from my main user and another from the 'public' user. Is there anyway to tell Win7 NOT to show the desktop.ini files at all on the actual desktop? I see that it is a 'hidden' file, but that doesn't seem to make...
Hey sorry for the vague title but i couldn't think of a good way to explain.
First of all, I am pissed that microsoft is now charging people to send emails to get technical support. My issue couldn't be resolved in their solution centre so they wanted to charge me to ask a question? complete BS...

Hello,
In the Windows Explorer, if I click on "Libraries" nothing shows up - it appears empty. However, if I search for a file I know to be in Libraries, I can find it via the search window. If I look at its location in the search, it certainly looks like the file is in the right...
