Hey all, hope you can help me.
I'm attempting to use MDT for deployment. I've been partially successful, but have had a lot of interruptions and keep having to restart the process. My understanding and how I hope to do it is this:
Build a reference image with items that do not install well...
Hello my name is Ethan,
It is nearing the holidays and computer hardware updates are inevitable. My hard drive currently is a 500 gigabyte Seagate model and it is almost full. I am soon to receive and new 2 terabyte Seagate model. I am going to use a raid system on my motherboard to combine the...
Hello
To recover an image am I better off using the Windows PE 4.0 disc that is made with this 3rd party imaging program to recover an image or, enable legacy if I have it?
Without legacy should I disable secure boot control and launch csm or use the disc I referred to?
I would return all I...
The system is totally different.
The download takes longer because you are basically downloading an OS installer that will overwrite the existing installation.
A lot of programs are either are not running properly or have been removed from the previous Win 8 installation.
Avast was gone...
Does anyone have any opinions on using windows WDS or a 3rd party imaging source? compare and contrast the benefits just looking for some real world experience here.
Hi all. I am using a Novero Solana laptop with an intergrated webcam. I tried testing the webcam in Skype but it shows black screen (I even tried changing brightness, contrast etc in Skype). In device manager under Imaging devices-USB camera the details are:

I need to install Windows 7 on multiple computers (over 20), overwriting the original install with a customized one with added software.
I would use boot time imaging software to simply load the image but I am concerned about the license key for each computer.
Could I update the cloned...
I have 6 new laptops all the same unit
If I remove all "bloatware " and then generate a system image from within Win7 can that image be used to retore to the rest of these units (essentially clone from the first image)

I know of the option to back up your data on an external hard drive, at
intervals, but in the past few years I've heard of "constantly backing up" which
is basically that whenever something is downloaded on your computer, an exact
copy is made on the external drive. All downloaded...
[SOLVED] Why does Windows7 create two partitions?
Hello
I installed Windows7 Ultimate from scratch, and it warns that it might create a 100MB partition before creating a second one where the real stuff lives. This makes imaging more complicated.

Hello
Iif you use Win 7 imaging, can you both back up the system and also be able to recover a single file or is one or the other?
Do you use the rescue disc to do either or can you use the program itself via Windows?
Thank you
Hello
Some issue I have read pitting imaging against registry backup which are clouding my choice.
1-Erunt requires that you turn UAC off for ERUNT and not to use it automatically. ERUNT has not been updated since 2005.
2-System restore and Norton = must Norton turn tamper protection off to...

I'm doing a Windows 7 tutorial. In it I'm imaging a Windows 7 Virtual Machine. I rebooted the VM and booted from my physical WinPE CD.
The book SPTK 70-680 (Ian McLean) gives pretty good instructions but I have different drive letters than what’s in the book.
The book says to enter...
