How do I "deselect all" from this File Types list?
I only want to index .exe from my portable apps folder; deselecting file types one by one is not an option as there are hundreds.
Thanks
Hi,
This is my first day with Windows 11 and I'm already having a lot of trouble with a few niche things that are pretty important to my workflow.
First: if I open the Photos app, for example, the first window opens where I want it to, but any subsequent photos I open while the first is open...
Search button on taskbar, and typing in start menu/start screen no longer works. It does nothing. At the same time, Timeline history does not show up. (even if it's enabled on settings)
I tried searching online methods such as windows troubleshooter, resetting index, sfc command, powershell...
I don't know what's going on, but for some reason my Music and Pictures folders are not listed in the Index. Admittedly, all my personal folders are actually being stored in Onedrive, but the default folders reflect that locations change, and my Documents folder, also in Onedrive, is being...
Last year I obtained a free Windows 8 laptop from my neighbor (can't complain about that!). It has worked very well for me until recent months. For whatever reason, the file explorer will randomly stop showing all folders in the side bar and (often) the main window. All I can see is little...

Search in Windows Server 2016 is very weak,
For example, as I tried to search “Power”, the “power option” is not populated!
What could be the issue here? Is there a way to enhance the search in Windows Server 2016?
Quick access contains the folders: Documents, Music, Pictures, Video
On the right side of the window, there is a Quick access search field. Entering a search will find matching files in 3 folders but not matching files in the Pictures folder.
If I navigate directly to the Pictures folder then...
There's something that's been bugging me and costs me time for my works.
The windows search bar prioritizes folders instead of applications, how can I change this?
Thank you! :)

Hey there,
I'm an IT Technician at a secondary school currently setting up Windows 10 for our students. Currently they're all using 7 and we have a pre-configured image which we roll out to all our computers using pxe, this is set up with many pre-installed programs and settings. We're...
Consider an example directory containing:

IMG_0210.JPG
Some_PDF-numKK.pdf
If I want to find the pdf, and happen to remember that it had "numKK" in the filename, I might reasonably search "numKK" and expect to find it. In practice though, this will return 0 results. A search for...

Search is not properly working after upgrading to Windows 8.1. To get the search effectively working, I have to manually run the indexing option. The indexing takes for long time but this is not the issue. The issue is that the entire indexing results disappears when I turn my PC off!!
In my system, the size of each and every file and folder displaying the memory occupied in an odd way. here is a screen shot of my problem. please help me how to rectify it.
