The problem is that the system is in Spanish and I haven't been able to change it to English Im also totally new with Windows 8.

Hi
I have our friends computer all set up and ready to go.
One of the things that came about during this process is, I learned that you can make a real disk image in Windows 8 without using a third party software program.
Something I didn't think was possible, and you don't have to jump...

There's been no shortage of big Nokia news this week already - in some (very specific) ways, this might be the biggest of the lot. A screenshot has turned up online of what appears to be a Nokia (sorry, force of habit) a Microsoft Lumia tablet. The screenshot shows a familiar Windows Phone...
Just was wondering if people realise that if you set the cursor on the Ribbon in a File Explorer window and use the scroll wheel one can cycle through the Ribbon tabs.
This, of course, holds true in Windows 8.1, as well.
Cheers,

I have been getting a small, black postcard sized, message(?) that pops up for about a nanosecond. Too short to read what it says or click on it. Is there a way to view this? Or get rid of it?
Thank you!...........john
Hi
Is there a way to set the message creation window so it opens in the WYSIWYG mode so that you can cut and paste by default?
You would think I would remember to change it when I start but I always forget until I need to paste something.

Even though one can use the 'start' button on the Windows 8.1 Taskbar selected to go to the ALL Applications screen instead of Start...
Same as Win8, I, still, prefer having an old fashioned, alphabetical list window on the Taskbar for Applications to access everything & anything... saves all...
I've not used it much, but I think that will change, if I can get a handle on it. For some reason, the lower portion of the tool box window disappeared on me on the first use. It was probably something that I did wrong, but I've been looking for a way to restore it without any luck. The...
Rumours are rife about the return of the start button with the major update for Windows 8 called Windows Blue. Due for release sometime in the summer this will see further options for customisation of the Start menu too:

As the title suggests, I'm wondering why you hate the start screen in Windows 8 so much, or why you think others do.
Besides looking completely different, there are nothing but improvements on the back end in terms of search, live tiles and appearance. I honestly see no legitimate reason for...
I just saw a prototype for the new Microsoft calculator that will be in stores later this year. A few notable features include...
1. The "Addition" key has been permanently removed.
2. The "Multiplication" key has been removed, but it can be purchased separately as a single key keyboard that...
I've been working on this for weeks so shall try to make it succinct.
System: Lenovo laptop, Windows 7 64 bit, Logitech wireless mouse; no changes of any kind since weeks before problem started
Problem: wireless mouse acts very strangely. Cannot use (at random - sometimes it works) Windows...
I have just switched on my computer to find that a piece of my desktop has been cutoff by the full width of my 2nd monitor display, here's a screenshot of the problem:

as you can see i have tried to drag the area to the right of the screen with the cursor but it wont go any further...
Here's a brief tutorial on something which I think is a very useful feature in the tileview/start menu area of Windows 8. And unfortunately, most people do not know about it!
By the end of this tutorial, hopefully you will be able to achieve what is seen in this result image:
See the names...
Here's a cool module I created a while ago. I got the idea with some cool fading effects... Maybe you'll find use for this too :)
If you want something fancy, try this Module I came up with:
Imports System.Threading
Module FormSwitcher

Hi
My new computer finally shipped!!!
I'm climbing the walls without a computer to work on, it's been 3 weeks since I ordered it, my old one sitting fried in the other room.
Now I start checking the tracking link every few hours. LOL
Well at least I know it's on it's way now.
I've decided...
