I must admit, I was really excited about Windows8. I believed that the giant had awoken and that integration with mobile and tablet platforms had finally arrived. I eagerly updated my Win 7 machine the day it was released. I have now been using it on a regular basis and "can make it work"...

Hi
My new computer finally shipped!!!
I'm climbing the walls without a computer to work on, it's been 3 weeks since I ordered it, my old one sitting fried in the other room.
Now I start checking the tracking link every few hours. LOL
Well at least I know it's on it's way now.
I've decided...
Does anyone know of a good SSH client for metro? Using the modern app look at feel? Would be great to scroll through a bunch of tiled consoles left and right. Currently using cygwin, but want to use Windows 8 style apps.
Some folks grumble about the Ribbon (technology) & having (to put up w/) it in Explorer windows. So, I thought, I'd just mention that it can be collapsed via the wee arrow @ the top-right corner. Open it when wanted & or just use the remaining tabs. I'm not sure all the available functions...
Does anyone know if it is safe to install the Android APB Interface update on Windows 7? I think it has something to do with the Galaxy phone but I'm not sure what it does.
Hi
At least for now I'm giving up on Google Chrome.
I've had nothing but problems with it for the last 6 months.
I get popups that are supposed to be blocked, it won't display some pages correctly, like the top of this page, which just comes out as a large blank area, the spell checker is lame...
Hi,
Rather desperate right now.
Home network with Wifi and ethernet. Using 3x Notebooks and 3x workstations.
Problem:
One of the workstations(W7 ultimate) keeps changing between Public and Home. When this happens, the internet connection dies. I cannot see other workstations either when on...

Re: Control Panel
Was a time when going to CP would show all its content, all its individual components. But, can go to CP & see 'categories' & maybe, wonder which has the item sought, @ that moment. CP @ the bottom-left corner is as such. CP from All Apps is the same. However, you may...
_______ ,
Maybe there could be room for not finding the Win8 UI flawed or something that makes people unhappy. Maybe it is ok & there is no need to make the OS into something it's not... that being some previous OS. Many people cannot agree that it suffers because it was made for certain...

Neowin.net are running article claiming to have a wallpaper from the RTM to download. The wallpaper is actually quite nice although whether it's actually real remains to be seen..

How can I remove one of the previous locations from the menu that appears when I click on the downward black arrow in the top windows of the Windows Explorer?
I've read that adding the registry keys TcpAckFrequency and TCPnodelay (setting these to 1) can improve your ping in online games - albeit at the detriment of other web activity (i.e. torrenting).
Anyway it seems that adding these registry keys is a pretty innocuous change so my theory is...
I will say, missing or writing the rest of an OS because of a certain Start screen is somewhere between sad & silly. Making an big issue, fuss & blockage over a Start screen, that not only doesn't need to be used (There IS choice) but, gets in the way of nothing, hardly makes grounded sense...
