I have 2 win7 PC's and need to network them for file sharing. I did have them networked through my router with everything working great. I am now without broadband and attempted to network them using a gigabit switch, both of them now see a public network but not each other directly.
Question...
I had a perfectly fine internet connection on my new Inspiron, but when I came back from work, Windows 7 said it only saw an unidentified network (public), meaning I have no internet. My ipconfig/all log is in the attachment. How do I solve this problem?
Thanks

I got this problem this morning and have been working on it for a few hours. I did a lot of Googling to see what might be causing it; nothing seems to be working. It's ethernet, not wireless, and I've had 0 network problems for the half a year since I got the...

Greetings everybody!
This post shall be about the strange new networking policies introduced in Windows 7, expecially concerning the Network Location Awareness Service, which, at the moment, tries to make my life a fair bit more difficult than it needed to be.

My Windows 7 creates two networks one domestic and one public, that causes that do not connect to the Internet. How can I permanently eliminate the public network? both use the same local area connection, it causes conflict.
Thanks.

First off, Hi everyone!
I was lucky (?) enough to get a win7 party pack but so far have had nothing but network issues. I have completely given up on wireless - its hopeless. Driver support from belkin is pretty lame.
