I posted about this as an audio issue, got no responses. I'm going to try one more time.
whenever there's heavy internet traffic (upwards of 300 to 500 k/s and above), the system will lag, most notably if there is any audio playing in any application. the audio will continuously jerk and skip...
In winXP you can support 2 processors, being 1 dual core, or 2 single cores... etc. Have they increased this at all? Is that only 2 physical, so you can actually use a dual quad core system (8 processors, but only 2 physical still). Any ideas? Documentation?
I bought a fresh install copy of Windows 7 Home Premium, when I went to install, formatted my main drive. It is currently hung up on "Completing installation", I keep getting the . .. ... repeating, however on the first two attempts it blue-screened on me, and the green bar at the bottom never...
Hello all, first time I have posted, but I am stuck. I am attempting to install Windows 7 Professional on my machine but am experiencing extremely slow (2 hrs) install. Then when it did install it took 20 minutes plus to boot up. I have tried removing all the RAM but one stick, using just a...
Hi forums,
I have been using the official Windows 7 Professional 64bit for a week as everyone I know praises it as the true successor to xp. I, myself have been on XP 32bit (skipped Vista) and now I decided to pay to upgrade. Before we carry on here are my main specs:
Processor: AMD Phenom 9500...
When I try to play my avi files on this new Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS, it stutters every few seconds.
It starts off going fine for about 5 seconds, then starts stuttering.
I don't get this problem with any other things like games.
I never had this problem either on Vista with the same...
I had a good (easy) install of W7 Home Premium from Vista. I chose 32 bit disk because thats what was running before. Can I upgrade to 64-bit? I checked the system performance detail and it says 64-bit is supported with my quad core processor?
Old games like silent strom (from nival) and sentinelle (also hammer and sickle) are not supported by W7. Unsuported video card message !!! So far, no passtrought !!!:frown:

Hey guys,
New to the forums here. I stupidly brought my computer to geek squad for them to install Win. 7 on my laptop I got about a month ago. Before it had Vista Premium on it. I wanted them to do a clean install and erase all files and programs but of course it didn't happen. So now I'm...
Enabling the 4th core does not work in all 100% cases, but sometimes it is as simple as just going to bios and setting Advance Clock Calibration to Auto and restarting the machine. On the next boot, it will enable the 4th core. Phenom II X3 becomes a quad core processor.

I'm a MSDN subscriber, so I have a copy of the Windows 7 Professional RTM. While trying to install it on my desktop, it consistently freezes on the screen that says "setup is starting..." This is the screen immediately following the one where you click the "Install Now" button. My system specs...
I have an Intel quad core desktop and i installed the RTM from MSDN on here and the multitasking is insanely slow. My pc basically locks up while doing a lot of activities but my memory usage never breaks about half of what i have (4gb) and the CPU is never stressed more than 35%, what could be...
After reformatting and installing Windows 7 and downloading the very latest drivers my sound not only worked, it was the best sound I have ever heard from my system. Windows 7 also found my MATROX TripleHead2Go and adjusted the display accordingly, plus doing the same for ARMA II, COD 4 Modern...

Hello!
I have experienced a problem in Windows 7 that I have never encountered before (in Vista or way back in XP):
Some windows appear behind the taskbar instead of below it (my taskbar is located at the top of the screen, and has been that way in previous OSs). I'm at my wit's end as to...

I'm pretty mad about this situation. After hearing all the good things about Windows 7's speed and performance increases over Vista, I said, hey let's try it. Everything seemed to be working well, until I decided to install the drivers for my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum device. These...
The debate on whats the best set-up, either quad or dual core has been looked at again by the people over at Toms Hardware and makes for interesting reading:

I have W7 in two computers. One desktop Fujitsu-Siemens Quad-core in dual system startup mode and LG laptop Core 2 Duo, with W7 like only OS. Frecuently begin with execution of chkdsk without problems.
¿Why that?
Ok i recently installed windows 7 64bit on this computer. I keep getting BSOD's and the only way i have found to stop them is to run in safe mode. Anyone got any ideas why this might be happening?
