I just got a 25mb FIOS connection and everything is running great except when I boot up. It takes windows about 1 minute to find my network so I can connect to the internet (this also for some reason holds up my other startup programs, i.e. logitech setpoint for my G5). I have not had this issue...

My win 7 quad core PC suddenly started shutting down without warning yesterday. I thought this might be temperature related so downloaded a small utility to monitor fan speeds and CPU temps. I was amazed to see that when idling my intel CPU was up about 50C and when I gave the PC anything...

Hey guys, I've been trying to fix this myself but with no luck. Maybe you can give me some tips? I think it is a hardware issue which I have little to no experience with.
It all started when I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 x64 from my Vista x64. I had nothing of importance on the computer...
Hi, at the start of this month I changed the motherboard and graphics card. The change has caused my computer to BSOD since then and is becoming more and more frequent.
I have updated various drivers as suggested by other posts but still the problem persists.
The BSOD happens at random times...

I have recently checked if my CPU heat sink was dusty so i took it out and i cleaned it. I also took out my CPU to look at it. After i put everything back in, I turned on my computer and went to the BIOS and it only detected 2 cores on my CPU. Would it be because i placed it incorrectly?

Hi,
Im kind of at my wits end here, ill explain. I have two screens, both Dell, one running natively at 1920x1200 (the primary one) and a second running in vertical at 1050x1680.
I generally do most of my gaming on the Main one and keep the MSN/mail/Firefox stuff running on the second, and as...
My computer is an intel quad core 6600 with 4gb ram. Currently it has WinXP 32bit running. I have one hard drive which has two partitions (c and d). I've backed up all my stuff on to d and I wanted to install Win 7 64bit from scratch on the C partition.

It appears that windows 7 had updates happening last night (8-12-2010) since when I woke up, I woke to a log in screen, and that normally means the computer was restarted.
I logged in with no issues, but then I noticed that my network cards were red Xed out in the task bar, which is strange...

Hello,
Yesterday I installed Windows 7 on my brother's PC. He had been using Vista previously. Upon booting to the installer, the "Starting Windows" screen would appear with the animated windows logo. This screen took 20 minutes of waiting to get past, so for ages I thought it wasn't going to...
I'm looking for some guidance on an issue with my Windows 7 box. My system is crashing once a week or a few times a month. I can't exactly pinpoint why, as the logs only show the crash after.

I have bought Packard Bell IXtreme X8211 (M3720). It has Quad CPU with 4Gig RAM.
Very frequently it freezes for up to 30 seconds. I have notice in Resource Monitor that the Highest Active Time is 100% every time it freezes. The system has a WD EADS SCSI hard drive.
It started this after...
