Everytime I log in, I get a "Windows Activation" screen, saying activate Windows now
the activation period has expired.
Then it gives me the option to activate now or activate later,
why is this? I have the windows 7 release cand. and isin't it supposed to expire in like 2010? Please help...
Hello :) I'm new here and just wondering...
Windows 7 is a nice system, I already have Windows 7 Release Candidate. But still the security issue remains. I have some programs - Mil Shield, Lavasoft Firewall and AVG IS and they run perfectly on this Windows 7 release.
But some other my...
Microsoft.
I have enjoyed using the Windows 7 RC.
I was emailed an offer to upgrade to Windows 7.
The email says the discount price because I have been testing the release candidate, is $99 for Pro.
When I click on the link the price says $199.
What is up with the bait and switch tactic...

I’d like to offer up a little insight into the “Release to Manufacturing†(RTM) for Windows 7.
Over the past week, there have been many...
I have Windows 7 release candidate; on my laptop and my desktop. On my laptop it's working fine. No glitches at all. On my desktop...it's a different story. This annoying brown box is always flashing on my taskbar. It either covers the windows that I have open (in the taskbar) or the whole...
Over the past week, there have been many rumors surrounding RTM.
We are close, but have not yet signed off on Windows 7. When we RTM you will most certainly hear it here. As we’ve said all along, we will RTM Windows 7 when it’s ready. As previously stated, we expect Windows 7 to RTM in the...
Ok, I've been researching solutions for issues with windows 7 backup for weeks now and have had no luck. My VSS service is running fine, and everything was backing up fine til a short while ago, and has been failing since. I have been backing up to a network share on my file server. I am...
With perhaps a sub-build still coming, I content 7600 is RTM. Here is my thinking....
1) WINVER shows no expiration date.... all previous builds have had an expiration date.
2) No watermark. All previous builds have had a watermark.
3) Previous RC serials don't work (although 7264 also fits...
Using a Russian to English translator (looking towards Russia of course), I see that along with the July 13th sign-off, there is a July 24th availability on Connect. Guess we can see if the RC's are upgradable as soon as July 24th.;)
Check out http://windows7news.com/2009/04/27/upgrading-from-windows-7-rc-to-final/ for a fairly logical and believable answer to the question of upgrading from RC to RTM.
The pertinent text is shown below:
The only official indicator that upgrading from Windows 7 release candidate to Windows 7...

I stared using the beta version (7000) of Windows 7 in January, and used it until de RC came out.
My impression is that the beta was better.
When I saw how good W7 beta was I started hoping that Microsoft would´t ruin it in following releases, but it seems that´s what´s happening...
Dear Forum Members,
Can anyone please explain to me how to activate and register Windows 7?
I have repeatedly been receiving the following error message;
"A problem occurred when Windows tried to activate. Error Code 0x8004FC13"
I have been trying to use the Product Key as provided before the...
I will likely be running the RC until Windows 7 releases the full version. Will i be able to upgrade from the RC to the full version and not have to do a fresh install?
Hi,
This week I built a new system, and bought Vista OEM for $99 with it. I haven't opened the package for Vista yet, as I've downloaded/installed the Windows 7 RC.
Here's my question:
Does anyone know what MS has in store for pricing Win7 for those of us that are using the Release Candidate...
Microsoft has a pull date for the Win7 release candidate
August 15, 2009 > Have you been putting off that Win7 RC download? Get on the stick, because the end is nearing. Microsoft expects to release Windows 7 to manufacturing in July, and the company announced on Tuesday that it will pull the...

heres a quick list as ive only been using it for a few hours:
- i loved the feature where you could hover over something on the task bar and it would show a preview of the window.

With bulid 7260 (RTM escrow) MS started the RTM builds, and it's only few day before the final RTM build is compiled (if not already, 7262?).
So why MS will wait 4 months (Third a year) for the General availability!, I mean they will miss Back-to-school season that way!
Side note: why MS still...
Mozilla produced its first candidates of Firefox 3.5 RC1 and it was just a matter of time before the fully fledged Release Candidate would follow. But the RC was actually just around the corner. Fact is that users are now able to download Firefox 3.5 Release Candidate 1. According to Mozilla...
Hello!
I have downloaded windows 7 release candidate, but there is not any dvd.iso file. i have just an archived file with a txt file wich says: "This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system
that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification."
Whats the...
I have been using RC build 7100 since it came out and have been thrilled with it's stability. I have read that RC 7213 and other relase candidates have since been released (or leaked) Are the later builds better (more features) than my build 7100, or do my automatic updates keep me abreast with...
