Hi there,
I am transferring a large amount of data and need to leave the PC on overnight. I believe I have configured Windows 7 Professional so that automatic restarts for updates are disabled, yet the PC still sometimes shuts down when left on for long periods.

if you feel you need to check when your system expires just go Start>Run>Winver.exe it tells you the date of expreration.
whenever i leave the computer running, logged on, about an hour later, it restarts "unexpectedly" - says windows wasnt shut down properly on teh on the boot screen.
when i don't log on, it restarts within minutes.
