It doesn't need or take heaps of "customizing".
And maybe people won't react, respond or adopt well, willing or enthusiastically, even, w/ interest or curiosity IF they hear BEFORE they themselves bother w/ it, that it is a "mess". Rather would taint the notion of, even, investigating, for...

Maybe there could be room for not finding the Win8 UI flawed or something that makes people unhappy. Maybe it is ok & there is no need to make the OS into something it's not... that being some previous OS. Many people cannot agree that it suffers because it was made for certain...

I installed Fontagent Pro and when I rebooted my PC the icons in the start screen where missing.
I guess I am just wondering if anyone has run into this problem and knows how to fix this bug.
I must have a bit of OCD because it really bugs me when things aren't just so.

So you just installed Windows 8 Preview and have discovered the Start screen but no 'Start menu' or button as such. Well this guide will show you how to quickly configure your Start screen as if it was your old Win 7 start menu. This is by no means the only way and is just one way of using...
I will say, missing or writing the rest of an OS because of a certain Start screen is somewhere between sad & silly. Making an big issue, fuss & blockage over a Start screen, that not only doesn't need to be used (There IS choice) but, gets in the way of nothing, hardly makes grounded sense...

According to the Windows 8 Preview FAQ, media centre is not included with Preview by default. It can easily be returned by the method shown below.

Hello,
Today I have upgraded my Windows 8 Consumer Preview to Windows 8 Release Preview I didn't download the ISO image, so should I install the ISO rather than upgrading the previous OS? Does this affect the changes of some features or anything or it's just that nothing has been changed yet...

With the announcement that we can expect the next preview iteration of Windows 8 as early as the first week of June, what would you like to see and then what do you actually expect to see?

Y'all are making far too big a deal over the Start screen. I used the DP for months; now the Beta non-stop since 29/2. Hardly ever visit Start. The lack of the old Start Menu & Windows orb is completely meaningless. The OS works just fine, as is. Between the following, there is noise & a...
On March 1st, Microsoft released a product guide all about the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. While the guide is meant primarily for businesses, it details many of the new features that are found in the operating system. The 15-page document touches on some of the key features that are being...
