Hello.
I thought I'd check the system files as something about the system has crippled the machine's ability to run .JAR files.
Did SFC /Scannow from cmd prompt. 'Please insert your Windows XP Professional SP-3 CD now'
I inserted the system disc ... The system is XP Home according to Control...

I have ran many disk / system file checks (sfc /scannow), and it states that there are...
Hi
Here's some info about creating a recovery image that will retain your installed software, in Windows 8 that I didn't know about.
This seems like a better option then restoring Windows and losing all of your installed programs.

Hello,
After performing an upgrade to Windows 8.1, running the disk cleanup as an admin (or clicking clean system files once it has analyzed the disk) will allow you to cleanup remnants from the installation. I gained about 5 gigabytes from doing so.
Just a tip :)
Assume I created a bootable USB stick with some additional software on it.
Now I want to backup the whole stuff into an archive file on my hard disc.
If I would have an CD/DVD I could create a well known ISO file for it which contains everything.
How do I do this for an USB stick?
If I just...

I've included all the files requested on BSOD getting help page in a zipped folder. Hopefully somebody might know what direction I need to go to fix this issue. Any help would be appreciated on this "bad pool caller" BSOD. Thanks!:)

I'm pretty sure anyone computer-savvy knows that Windows XP was built off of 2000, and that every mention of 2000 was removed. Well, as it turns out, there is one mention of 2000. While deleting system files (in a VM of course), a restore critical Windows files screen appeared, and said to...

following on from my other thread "Catastrophe" I have a few more questions.
I have read many threads on re-creating an account which, in nearly all cases, detailed the following;
1. Create a new account in the normal manner.
2. Login with the new account to create the files.
3. Copy...

While attempting to set up for dual-booting with Linux, I used a free program that apparently messed up my Win7 MBR or structure of my sectors. I panicked because I couldn't see anything on the disk after that. I concluded in despair that everything was lost so I got a Win7 disk from a friend...
