If you are using BT BROADBAND exit the BT Broadband help icon in bottom right corner of desktop and the problem will go away
Neither way has helped me. and I dont wanna pay to sync my ipod 4gb nano to stupid windows media player
Glad you were saved the hassle of re-installing iTunes by not removing the AppleMobileDeviceHelper program.
Here's the route to finding the iTunes program file:
Crogram FilesiTunes
When in the iTunes folder, look for the iTunes program [around 19.3 mb),
click once to select it [not twice], then right click for choices, and select "run as administrator" . Good luck.

The best fix is: find the iTunes application (".exe") file, right click, select "run as administrator."
The annoying popups ["AppleMobileDeviceHelper....] no longer appear.
DO NOT just remove the Apple Mobile Device Helper" program. If you do, your iPhone won't be recognized. Trust me, I did it.
No need to remove/uninstall then reinstall iTunes.
