Windows 7 BSOD Bad pool Header

well basically its a windows 7 home premium 64bit OS 3gb of ram on the laptop every time i start the computer within 5 minutes or so it bluescreens ive attached 2 dump files.

Please reply quickly

One of the dumps (the Verifier Enabled one) points to your Synaptics Touchpad drivers. Please:
- turn off Driver Verifier (open verifier.exe, select "Delete existing settings", click on "Finish", reboot for changes to take affect)
- download a fresh copy of the latest, Win7 compatible drivers from the PC manufacturer's website
- un-install the current touchpad software/drivers from your system
- install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

Your BIOS dates from 2009. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

You're missing SP1 for Windows 7 - check Windows Update for any updates, and install them.

I recommend:
Fully uninstalling Kapersky AntiVirus and Super Anti Spyware.
Kapersky has been known to cause BSODs, and in my experience chews up a lot of system memory.
Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows) - this is (in my opinion) the best free Antivirus Software so far (McAfee comes second, Avast! comes third) - it uses a small amount of your RAM and CPU and protects your computer just as well.
MalwareBytes should only be run as a one-time scan. This means - install, run, check for errors, uninstall. Then when (and if) you want to scan your system again, repeat the same process. However, with Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall enabled, you should rarely, if ever, have need of MalwareBytes.

i have to ask how did you learn all that just from 2 dump files? as well as which anti malware were you reffering? im trying to learn as much as i can about bluescreens so any info would be appreciated

We have a BSOD analyzer to look through the minidumps, and we have experience. Try reading through a few articles yourself and see if that gets you going. (google "How to analyze a minidump" or "How to debug a BSOD" etc.)
 
could you try downloading updates from a different computer. then putting it on to a USB. then going into safe mode (F8 before Windows Logo) and installing the drivers that way.
 
Have you tried a clean install of Windows?


How does it crash in Safe Mode? What do you do to trigger the crash? Is it random or always happening after you do something?
 
i havent tried a clean install because i dont have a install cd, but every time i try to install those drivers is when it crashes
 
So only when you try to install the drivers? Have you tried doing other stuff in Safe Mode?

Only other thing I can think of - contact HP Support.
 
Sorry, but I've gotta ask - is this a legal copy of Windows? Should this be a pirated copy of Windows, please be aware that we may not be able to fix it (as the hacks that were done to activate it will cause the OS to behave differently than we expect it to). If that's the case, our efforts to help may just waste your time. Secondly, the forum rules prohibit assisting with pirated software - so the topic would be closed if that is the case.

Have you tried running SFC.EXE /SCANNOW from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt? If so, what were the results?

You can order recovery DVD's from the manufacturer of the laptop if you haven't made the one's that the system can make.
