Windows 7 Can I install the 64 bit verison of Windows 7 professional on my 32 bit computer?

Hello, my name is Johnny.

I currently have the win7 32 bit installed... However I would like to switch to the 64 bit setup due to the fact that i'm only using 3 out of 8 gigs of ram.

So would it be safe to reinstall Win7 but in 64 bit?

You'll want to take the steps necessary to backup all your critical data (images, music, email, documents, etc.,) as you will have to perform a custom (clean) install as an upgrade is not possible. And of course you will have to have a processor cable of supporting a 64bit install but since you have 8 gigs of ram I'm guessing that you've already made sure of that.
