Windows 7 Can't Authenticate any networks

My girlfriend has had a laptop about 2 and a half months and it has worked fine. Yesterday she was unable to access wireless out of the blue. I ran the Diagnose and it say's cannot fix the problem. I pulled up the network connections screen and watched as it tried to connect to a network and it would get stuck at Authenticating Network IP or something like that. It finds our network, but fails to connect. This morning it was working fine after she plugged the ethernet cord into the router and when she unplugged it the wireless continued to work up until about half an hour ago, and then the problem came back. Not sure if the ethernet cable fix was a fluke or if that actually helped, but has this happened to anyone else?

If you right click you wireless icon in the taskbar, does your network show available and with a good signal strength? Security type is still the same?

Have you made any changes to you firewalls or anti-virus programs?

Does you network still show as private in the Network and Sharing center?
