I go to Computer - Network and I see all the computers. From one computer I can access all data on both computers but from the other computer I can only access my own stuff but when I try and access the other computer I get a Windows Secuity which says I have to enter a password. I have the right user name and I've tried Security key, Passphrase, Homegroup key, D-Link Router password so I wonder what I'm doing wrong and how to fine my password. I can't change anything because too many computer are on the network. any ideas?

    ]Network Location:
    • Confirm that the network location is set to "Home" or "Work" on both computers. Public network settings can restrict access.
    []Firewall and Antivirus Software:
    • Temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus software on both computers to check if they are blocking network access.
    [
    ]Reset Password:
    • If you can't remember the password, you may need to reset it. You can reset the password for network sharing through the Credential Manager in Windows.
    []Guest Account:
    • Make sure the Guest account is enabled on the computer you are trying to access.
    [
    ]Shared Folders and Permissions:
    • Check the shared folders on the computer you want to access and ensure that the correct permissions are set for the user account you are using.
    []Network Troubleshooter:
    • Run the built-in network troubleshooter on both computers to identify and fix any network-related issues.
    [
    ]Network Hardware Check:
    • Ensure that the network cables, Wi-Fi connections, and routers are working properly.

Finding Your Password:

If you are unable to remember the password, you can follow these steps to retrieve or reset it:
  • Reset Network Password via Credential Manager:
    • Press Win + R, type control keymgr.dll, and press Enter.
    • In the Credential Manager, under Windows Credentials, find the entry for the network computer and update the password.
  • Resetting HomeGroup Password:
    • HomeGroup passwords can be found or reset by going to Control Panel > HomeGroup.
    • You can choose to leave the HomeGroup and create a new one with a new password.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the network access issue and potentially find or reset the required password for access.
