Windows 7 CheckDisk cancels scheduled run

I wanted to run CheckDisk on my HDD as a matter of maintenance. So I went into the drive's properties, selected Disk Checking and checked the box to repair any errors found. Windows gave me the usual message about not being able to do so while it is running and to do it on reboot. I clicked Yes, then rebooted my computer. When I got to the part where it counts down to give one the opportunity to cancel the disk check, it canceled it on its own and booted into Windows.

I have done Google research on the problem.

I ran sfc /scannow. This did nothing.

I tried the registry fix, adding * lsdelete to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Bootexecute key.

I attempted the hotfix MS put out, which told me it didn't apply to my computer and wouldn't install.

I've read about the autochk.exe file being the culprit of this problem. Is there somewhere I could download a replacement for this file?

Thank you.

Did SFC /scannow report it found no integrity violations, or found and repaired them, or could not repair them?
